What kind of prayer items will we be focusing on when we pray for Canada?

While we want to remain flexible as the Lord directs us to pray for Canada, here are a few prayer focuses we expect to pray on:

  • The Canadian Government and the upcoming Federal Election

  • Injustices in Canadian society

  • The Canadian Church – awakening and revival

  • Repentance over Canadian matters that are against God’s truth

  • Our local communities:

    1. For our communities to be saturated with the Gospel of Jesus

    2. Protection against rising crime (home invasions, car thefts, shootings in public places..etc.)

  • Canadian families; School systems (including colleges and universities)

  • Praying against infiltration of radical ideologies over the nation

  • Praying for the Canadian young generation

Above is not a comprehensive list, we believe that God is at work in Canada, we trust that the Spirit of God will continue to guide us and reveal God’s prayer agenda to us as we follow Him closely as His prayer army.

FAQ:

1. Must the Knee Soldier Team be 3-4 people? We recommend no more than 3-4 people. It will be much easier to manage. Everyone in the team takes ownership to keep the weekly prayers going.

2. What is the role of the Connector? The Connector is the liaison between CanHOP and the team. The Connector will be the representative of the team to communicate with CanHOP (e.g. if there’s any questions/ideas from the team). CanHOP may also contact the Connector to reach out to the team.

3. What kind of support will CanHOP give us? CanHOP will support all Knee Soldier Teams with prayer highlights/newletters; prayer training, and huddles (where knee soldiers can learn from one another and share best practices). For the training and huddles, knee soldier can choose to join as one deems needed.

4. What kind of training will CanHOP give us? One of CanHOP’s key mandate is to train up Kingdom Prayer Intercessors. Our training includes: a) Spiritual Retreats b) Prayer Courses c) Teaching videos (where intercessors can access at one’s discretion).

5. Can I have more than 1 team? Yes. However, we recommend that you do not to have too many teams. It is better to be focused.

6. Can I have only 2 intercessors within the team? Yes, starting with 2 is fine. However, we encourage you to ask the Lord for an addition of 1-2 more in the team though because if you have only 2 and 1 person cannot make that particular hour, you will be left to pray on your own.

7. Is this hour of prayer only to focus on praying for Canada? Yes. There is great need to pray for Canada thus we are mobilizing intercessors to focus on Canada for this weekly prayer hour.

8. What would that hour of prayer for Canada be like? There is no set format for the hour of prayer. Each team can pray as the Spirit leads. Please see our other document for suggested prayer formats.

9. Can we pray for more than an hour? Absolutely. Pray as the Spirit directs. We ask for 1 hour per week as a minimum guideline.

10. We are new to being intercessors, we are not sure if we can commit to praying for the full hour. Is that okay? We move by faith. Start with the half hour and ask the Lord to gradually stretch your team. Do not focus on the time, simply focus on what the Spirit impresses you to pray on. You may actually find that the one hour is up sooner than you realize.

11. Can brothers/sisters from different churches come together to form a team? Absolutely. Brothers and sisters from different churches can form teams together.
